Our hydrotherapy service involves carrying out exercises and specific physiotherapy techniques in water to help relieve pain, restore movement and improve function.
Exercising in the water can be useful in many instances, like when it is difficult or too painful to carry out weight bearing movements on land, or in the early days post-surgery.
The buoyancy effects of water have an unloading effect on joints, which can in turn help to promote mobility, improve balance and restore range of movement. For many, this can improve confidence and lay the foundations to move with less pain and more efficiency on land.
If you are recovering from recent lower limb surgery, you may want to discuss with your specialist whether hydrotherapy will be useful as part of your rehabilitation programme.
We can invoice the following insurers directly for hydrotherapy:
- Bupa
- Axa
- Cigna
(Please ensure you have the correct authorisation code specific to hydrotherapy if using insurance.)
Don't forget to book in your Ski Fit Injury Screening Assessment! Our clinicians will complete a comprehensive biomechanical assessment of your body specific to skiing and prescribe a tailored exercise programme to help address any ailments.
