Shockwave Therapy

How Does Shockwave Therapy Work?

Shockwave Therapy works by triggering a cascade of biological effects in the tissue:

  • Stimulates blood flow and nutrient delivery to the injured area
  • Disrupts chronic inflammation that may be delaying healing
  • Encourages tissue regeneration and repair
  • Reduces pain by decreasing nerve sensitivity and breaking up abnormal calcium deposits (e.g., calcific tendinopathy)

You may feel some mild discomfort during the session — but the effects are often felt quickly, and improvements typically occur over a course of 3–6 sessions.

Most effective when used alongside exercise therapy

Most people need 3–6 sessions, spaced 1 week apart

No needles, no anaesthesia, and no recovery time

Mild soreness is possible after treatment but settles quickly

Results may be felt after just 1–2 sessions
